Jerry hails from Chicago, where, despite the burden of being a long-suffering Cubs fan, he earned a Bachelor of Music Education Degree from DePaul University. He performed in the popular singing group "The American Majority," was an associate conductor for the Chicago Symphonic Wind Ensemble, and has taught vocal and instrumental music in Chicago-area and Broward County Schools. Jerry has been the musical director for such shows as Guys and Dolls In Concert, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, How to Succeed, Annie, Camelot, Bye Bye Birdie, Follies, Jerry's Girls, The King and I, Oliver!, The Sound of Music, The Roar of the Greasepaint, the Smell of the Crowd, and You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. He recently was an assistant musical director for PPTOPA's production of Carousel, and BOB's production of Once Upon a Mattress. He has appeared at the Amaturo Theatre in The Music Man (trained the barbershop quartet) and Carousel; and TBI's The Music Man (barbershop quartet) and Hello Dolly (Rudy). Jerry is a founding board member of Broward on Broadway. In his other lives, he is a corporate trainer in the travel industry, and he has worked as a voice talent in radio and for various sports franchises. He is also the High Holidays Choir Director at Temple Beth Orr in Coral Springs, FL.
