Article III Membership

ARTICLE III – MEMBERSHIP
A. Membership shall be open to adults of eighteen years or over who are willing
to subscribe to the mission statement and abide by the rules of this organization. A member is defined as any individual who is in good standing as defined below.
1. Membership commences on September 1, December 1 or March 1, depending on initial participation and shall expire 2 years from the end of the season in which you joined.
B. A member shall be defined as one who has actively participated in a BOB production, in one or more of the following manners:
A. set construction
B. lights
C. sound
D. costumes
E. props
F. backstage running crew
G. Front of house
1. concessions
2. ushering
3. tickets
(Minimum of 3 performances per run of a show)
H. Performing in a show
I. Directing
J. Member of production staff
K. Misc. as determined by the Board
C. Member benefits shall include:
1. The right to nominate shows for the upcoming season.
2. The right to vote on by-law changes and amendments.
3. Listing on our website.
4. The right to nominate candidates and vote on Board members at the bi-annual Board election.
D. A member shall not act as a representative of BOB without the sanction of the Board of Directors. If one has done so, that person’s membership may be revoked by majority vote of the Board.
E. A non-voting, junior member is defined as anyone under the age of 18 who has voluntarily participated in a production of BOB for the past 2 years or is currently participating in a production of BOB.
F. General membership may be revoked, at the discretion of the Board, due to lack of participation or conduct detrimental to BOB.
