Betty Gold, M.S.Ed. - Betty has been with BOB since its inception. Her most memorable roles were Doris MacAfee in “Bye Bye Birdie”, Agnes Gooch in “Mame”, and Aunt Martha in “Arsenic and Old Lace”. She has performed in BOB’s productions of “Guys and Dolls” (Martha in the Mission Band), “Fiddler on the Roof”, “Oliver!” ( Old Sally), “Annie”, and “How to Succeed…”. She is proud to have been associated with the TBI Players in “Music Man” and “Hello Dolly”. Betty’s first theatre experience in Florida was with Congregation Bet Chaverim’s productions of “Bye Bye Birdie” and “Oliver! (Mrs., Bedwin). As a member of the Fredonia Festival Chorus at S.U.N.Y. Fredonia, Betty had the privilege of singing with the Buffalo Philharmonic (which was under the baton of Michael Tilson Thomas), and also the Pittsburgh Symphony. Betty teaches Kindergarten at Hollywood Hills Elementary and was the musical director of the Drama Club’s past performances of “Cinderella”, “Willie Wonka”, “Annie”, and “Wizard of Oz”. Betty and Lee have been married for 32 years and have two great sons (both graduates of UF). Aaron is currently an Optometry student at Nova-Southeastern, and Jonathan, who is still living and working in Gainesville.
